Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey moved one step closer to Chad Reed’s record of twenty-five straight podiums last night with a win at Round 4 of Monster Energy Supercross in Oakland.
Dungey’s third straight win to begin the season extended his podium streak to twenty, just five back of the record Reed set from February 22, 2003, through the end of 2004.
“It feels great to get another win,” stated Dungey on the podium. “Being out front early allows me to ride my own race and stay focused. I am really happy for my teammate Marvin tonight. This is a big step for him to get his first podium of his 450 career. We train really hard together and I’m happy for him and the team to have us both on the podium.”
Dungey needs six more podiums this year to break Reed’s record.
