Arnaud Tonus will make his Lucas Oil Pro Motocross debut this weekend at the Washougal National, the team announced today. Tonus was expected to return last weekend at the Spring Creek National but his return was delayed after he hurt his should prior to the event.
After signing with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki this off-season following five seasons in the FIM World Motocross Championship in Europe, Tonus only contested three rounds of the 250SX East Region before coming down with what the team is calling a serious illness. He has not raced since the Atlanta 2 round of supercross in late February.
Reports of his illness first surfaced after Tonus faded late in the race in Atlanta. Following the race he posted on Instagram that he was “struggling with a lot of fatigue and we find out my sugar was really low and i made an hypoglycemia.” In March he posted on Instagram that doctors found “a virus in the blood.”
