Santa Monica, Calif. – Tickets are now available for Red Bull Straight Rhythm, the world’s only head-to-head, straight-line motocross race, taking place on October 10 at Fairplex in Pomona, Calif. While this year’s event will return to Fairplex, it will be run at a new location in the venue, the former horse track. The new location, which hosted horse racing from 1989 until 2015, will offer a substantially upgraded spectator experience, including: shaded seating, better viewing and a large infield vendor/concession area. In addition, racing legend and 2014 Red Bull Straight Rhythm Open Class champion James Stewart will make his return to competition at the event, and 2015 AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey will also race. Straight Rhythm is a flagship event of the Red Bull Signature Series, a collection of the most progressive action sports events in the world. The event date, initially announced as October 11, has been moved to Saturday, October 10. Tickets for the event are now available for purchase at redbull.com/straightrhythm.
Red Bull Straight Rhythm is an evolution of the sport of supercross, featuring twenty-four riders broken up into two classes—sixteen riders in the Open Class and eight riders in the Lites Class (250cc or less). Riders will race head-to-head on a half-mile “unwound” track, where there are no turns, just a straight rhythm section. This year’s event will take place on the front stretch of the former five-eighth-mile horse track, putting all the action front and center for fan viewing. With over 10,000 covered grandstand seats, plus an infield and paddock, spectators will be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience while watching an all-out, head-to-head sprint to the finish line. Ticket options include:
General Admission - $30: Access to covered grandstands with shaded seats (first come, first served), infield, and paddock access
VIP - $125 (limited availability, will sell out): Premium shaded seating, air conditioned hosted bar and catering, private televisions, finish line viewing deck, separate VIP parking entrance, infield and paddock access
The October 10 event will also witness the return of James Stewart to competitive racing, marking his first race since he won the Open Class at Red Bull Straight Rhythm in 2014. Stewart will look to harness the power of the horses that once ran at the track to defend his Open Class title. Invites are out to the world’s top riders, and the full field of confirmed riders will be announced in the coming months.
“I’m stoked to be competing again, and it’s special to make my return at Red Bull Straight Rhythm so I can defend my title,” said Stewart. “The unique design of this track paired with the win or go home format of this race makes it really fun for the riders and exciting for the fans.”
Red Bull Straight Rhythm will air as part of the Red Bull Signature Series on NBC November 29. For more information, visit http://www.redbullsignatureseries.com.
