Youthstream has released the first provisional calendar for the 2016 FIM World Motocross Championship. For the fourth consecutive season, the series will open under the lights in Qatar on February 27.
For the first time since 2008, the series will return to South Africa on March 20, for Round 3 of the championship in Johannesburg. Switzerland will host Round 15 of the series on August 7, the first time the series has visited the country since 2001. Glen Helen will host the final round of the series for the second consecutive season on September 11.
There are currently four TBA dates on the calendar—Rounds 2, 13 and 17 and the venue in Italy—as the FIM and Youthstream typically release multiple schedules before all locations are locked in.
