Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull KTM has made it official: they have signed Mitchell Oldenburg for Lucas Oil Pro Motocross. There's just one caveat: the deal is only for the first five rounds. The team will reevaluate Oldenburg's deal after High Point.
“Mitchell has had some flashes of brilliance and I just like the effort he puts into his racing,” said Tyler Keefe, TLD team manager. “We love helping guys like that.”
Oldenburg finished twelfth overall in Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East Region, with a season-high 8th (Detroit and St. Louis). In 2014, Oldenburg raced a limited schedule due to funding, finishing 40th overall in 250MX. Oldenburg is replacing the injured Darryn Durham, who will miss time due to lingering wrist issues.
