Darian Sanayei won a crazy 450 A/Pro Sport moto at Daytona. Chase Bell got the holeshot, but collided mid-air with another rider and hit the ground hard. He was attended to and appeared to be okay but did not finish the race. Soon after, Daniel Baker had what appeared to a bike problem and had to pull off. Mitchell Harrison and Tristan Charboneau rounded out the podium.

John "Rookie" White, famous for his huge leaps on Instagram, lead wire-to-wire today at Daytona in 450 B. New Jersey's Brandon Hartranft and South Carolina's Max Markolf rounded out the podium.

The Jalek Swoll, Stilez Robertson battle was reignited for Mini Sr. 2 (12-14). Robertson grabbed the holeshot, but Swoll struck quick, taking the early lead. Robertson fought back to get close, until Swoll found another gear and took over for the win. Robertson would finish second with Ty Masterpool in third.

The best A and B riders squared off in Daytona and it was Darian Sanayei with the win over Chase Bell. Bell grabbed the holeshot and lead for around five laps before giving up the lead to Sanayei. In third, Austin Forkner put in another impressive come from behind performance, but ran short of time to catch the leaders.

WMX Moto 2
The second moto of the opening round of the 2015 Women's Motocross Championship saw a shakeup in the championship chase. Pre-season title favorite Mackenzie Tricker, who finished second in moto one yesterday, crashed while leading early in the race and then crashed agin later in the race. She came back to finish seventh. Meanwhile, moto one winner Kylie Fasnacht overcame some early troubles to take the moto win and a sweep of the first round.

Schoolboy 2 (13-16)
The Schoolboy 2 (13-16) group offered arguably the best race of the day. For the second time today, Austin Forkner offered another come from behind special. But unlike the 250 B race, he came up short. Forkner passed leader Joey Crown after the white flagged dropped. But Crown fought back and re-passed Forkner. The two ran into lap traffic after that and Crown held on for the win.

It was another impassive come from behind win at Daytona. Kentucky's Daniel Baker came from outside the top 10 to pass early leaders Marshal Weltin, Mitchell Harrison and Chase Bell. Harrison would hold on for second with Darian Sanayei rounding out the podium.

Austin Forkner is the real deal, folks. The young gun from Missouri put together an impressive come from behind 250 B performance this afternoon. After going down in the first turn, Forkner rounded the first lap in tenth. He quickly charged to third and then laid down a 52 second lap time--two seconds fastest than second--to take the lead. He ran away to a four second lead from there for the win. Max Markolf and Brandon Hartranft finished second and third.

Following an action packed Monster Energy AMA Supercross last night at Daytona International Speedway, we are back at the speedway today for the sixth annual Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross. With approximately 1,400 entries, the two-day event kicks off today with practice and heat races.
“Just driving through the tunnel into this stadium is cool,” said Team Green's Austin Forkner. “There are always a lot of people here and racing the same track as the pros is just great. I’ve been riding tighter and tamed super tracks to prepare for this race. You really have to get used to the Daytona dirt, it’s on a different level.”
The 2015 Women’s Motocross Championship opens this weekend in conjunction with RCSX. “This is my second year on the track in Daytona,” said Australian Mackenzie Tricker, the 2013 and 2014 Loretta Lynn’s Women’s Motocross Champion. “It’s a tighter track and the soil is much different. It’s all around really exciting being here, it’s an awesome venue. This track has opened my eyes to another world.”
“To be able to race in a stadium where top athletes in the world have raced is incredible,” said Marissa Markelon, the 2014 overall Women’s Motocross champion and a consistent top-three finisher during the 2014 season. “This is a one of a kind track with a great atmosphere. It’s more like a community.”

California's Stilez Robertson grabbed the holeshot and took off for a five second lead before going down in the corner, which allowed Jarrett Frye to get past. Robertson would go down again, but was still able to qualify. Frye took the win over Robertson and Patrick Murphy.

Austin Forkner, who transitioned to 250 B from SuperMini this year, grabbed the early lead in the first 250 B heat. KTM's Clhallen Tennant pulled close, but Forkner was using a double, quad in the rhythm near the grandstands to keep his lead. Michael Mosiman would finish third.

The heavy hitters were out for 250 A. Minnesota's Henry Miller grabbed the holeshot over Chase Bell, younger brother to Rockstar Husqvarna's Zach Bell. GEICO Honda's newest amateur star Tristan Charboneau quickly moved into second and then took the inside after the finish to move past Miller. Bell went down early in the race and finished 18th. Daniel Baker pulled close to Charboneau late in the race, but couldn't make a strong challenge. Miller would finish third.

Three last lap passes highlighted the first Mini Sr heat. Ty Masterpool took the holeshot and lead the entire race until the last lap when a hard charging Jalek Swoll made a pass in first rhythm section. Masterpool fought back and pass Swoll back only to get passed back with a few corners to go. Jess Flock finished third

The second Schoolboy 2 heat was one of the best of the day. Max Markolf secured the early lead with Challen Tennant close. The two exchanged passes and positions on a few occasions before Markolf went down after a pass from Tennant. Tennant held on for a close win over Michael Mosiman. Ramyller Alves finished third. Markolf rebounded for sixth.

The opening moto of the 2015 Women's Motocross Championship has concluded in Daytona. In one of the best races of the day, Mackenzie Tricker and Kylie Fasnacht dueled at the speedway--exchanging multiple passes over the course of twelve laps. Fasnacht made the last move late in the race to take the opening moto win over Tricker. Marissa Markelon finished third.
