Ryan Villopoto can now put MXGP winner on his resume. The four-time AMA Supercross Champion rode to his first career MXGP overall at the second round of the MXGP of Thailand today. RV won the first moto in dominating fashion over Clement Desalle and Romain Febvre. Antonio Cairoli won the second moto, but RV's third was good enough for the overall. Clement Desalle went 2-2 for second overall.
In MX2, Jeffrey Herlings went 1-1 for his second straight sweep to begin the season. His Red Bull KTM teammate Pauls Jonass finished second overall with Dylan Ferrandis in third. American Thomas Covington finished fourth.
