Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Dean Ferris suffered a broken femur today at Round 16 of the FIM World Motocross Championship at the MXGP of Goias in Brazil. Ferris, who signed with Red Bull KTM this off-season and rode for the team in Monster Energy Supercross before returning to Europe, was slated to team with Chad Reed and Matt Moss for Australia in the upcoming Motocross of Nations in Latvia. Luke Clout, who just won the Australian Nationals MX2 crown, was previously named the MX2 reserve.
“This is a very unfortunate end to our season. Dean fell and broke his right femur in the second moto and will undergo surgery to fix the break. We will release an update on Dean’s condition following his surgery,” said Red Bull IceOne Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager Antti Pyrhönen.
