  • AG Motorsports Daytona Recap

Daytona Beach, FL – Heading into the 10th round of the Monster Energy Supercross, AG Motorsports rider #50 Kyle Peters was ready to put the disappointing St. Louis weekend behind him and get back to racing.

Daytona proved to be a great blend of Motocross and Supercross that was very technical. Kyle was fast all day and had a solid qualifying time putting him 10th fastest for the evening event.

In Heat 1, Kyle got a great start and was out front in turn two with Hahn on his rear wheel. Hahn made a move to get around Kyle before the end of the first lap and held on to 2nd through lap 2. Bell was running hard and went to the outside of Kyle as he was protecting the inside line which allowed Decotis to make a move on the inside by the next turn. The battle between Martin and Kyle was the highlight in the Heat race as it became a chess match for the 4th position. Kyle battled hard and kept Martin behind him as the checkered flew giving Kyle 4th for the Heat race.

When the gate dropped for the Main Event, Kyle got another great start and challenged Musquin for the Hole Shot. Musquin pulled away quickly and the battle was on for the number 2 position. Kyle stayed in the hunt with the lead pack until he began to feel the effects of his broken toe by lap 3. He managed to hold off Wharton for a few laps as they battled for the 5th position before a bad line through the sand section allowed Wharton to make his move around Kyle. Kyle finished 7th in the Main Event moving him up to 8th in the overall point standings.
