There are just over two days left in Round 7 of the Mad Skills Motocross tournament, and once again it's been a record-breaking week for participation. By far, actually. That's not the big news, though. What's really cool is that none other than Ryan Smith is currently in the lead, with a blazing time of 53.73, a mere 3/100ths of a second ahead of Master 52. Yes, I mean this Ryan Smith. So cool to see a real pro racer, and a privateer hero at that, up front. Can he hold on for a couple more days? We'll just have to wait and see, as he's got a lot of fast guts on his tail, including none other than Matt Lemoine, who's currently in 6th.
A quick note on ties: If we ever end up with two players at the very top having the exact same time at the end of a run, we'll award the win to the player who got the time on the fewest attempts. We think it's the fairest way.
Okay, so we know the Round 7 track is tough, and there are clearly people who are really looking forward to leaving it behind. Good news -- I just tested the upcoming Round 8 track, and it's awesome. It's a supercross-style track with a lot of rhythm, and I'm pretty sure people are going to find some interesting lines to shave off time. I expect many to deem this the best tournament track yet.
Oh, and in case you missed it, here's Master 52's winning run from Round 6. If you're a Mad Skills Motocross player, you know just how hard it is to stay on the back wheel like he does.
If you're not a Mad Skills player and you have an iDevice, you're seriously missing out on one of the best racing games ever made. Might be the best dollar you'll ever spend. It has the highest cumulative user rating of any motorcycle racing game on the App Store. Get it here. (And yes, it is coming to Android!)
If you're not receiving our weekly emails, you might want to consider signing up. Each week we send out a video of the winning time, a list of the top 100 finishers, important tournament updates, prize notifications, and we're going to try to start including playing tips as well.
