Round 1 of the Mad Skills Motocross Tournament (iOS) was absolutely amazing. The opening round, which ended on Saturday at 3 p.m. EST, included thousands of players across the globe. You can find more details about this competition, now in its second round, here. If you have an iOS device and the full game, it is not too late to join in on the fun.
Some interesting statistics from Round 1:
Number of registered participants: 18,583
Number of players to reach gold: 4,929
Number of players to reach silver: 3,253
Number of players to reach bronze: 4,528
Number of angry wives/girlfriends: 4,929
Starting with Round 3, we'll also be reporting how many attempts have been made in each round. It's going to be a really big number.
Huge props go to Round 1 winner raiderdoug09 who, after thousands of attempts, managed to get by BEYER#127 in the final minutes of the round. Here's a Youtube video of his winning run, which is extraordinary. (If you've never played this game, it may be hard for you to appreciate how good this run is. Any seasoned player would respect his mad skills.)
And finally, here's a complete list of the top 100 finishers. Check out #97 -- Spanish FMX legend Edgar "ET" Torronteras himself. Don't be surprised if you see Matt Lemoine near the top in Round 2. There are lots of other pros past and present who are really good at this game and could end up in the Top 100 of future rounds. We'll see how it pans out when the round ends on Saturday at 3 p.m. EST.
