2nd Annual SoCal Vintage MX Classic at Barona Oaks
The 2nd Annual SoCal Vintage MX Classic is coming is coming to Barona Oaks MX on June 11th, 2011.
The main goal for this event is to bring together all vintage motocross enthusiasts for a great day of racing and fun. The track is a special design for this event. We welcome riders from any vintage club: Cal VMX, ARX, etc. Bring your membership card for $5 off your entry fee. There are classes for all ages and bikes. We will also feature limited classes for Modern bikes as well including a 2-Stroke class.
In addition to all of the Vintage, Post-Vintage and Modern classes, there are many exciting elements planned for this year's event:
The North/South VMX Challenge: One team from the North (Exp/Int/Nov) will go head to head with one team from the South (Exp/Int/Nov) in a one-moto format. The team with the best combined score (after two rounds) will take home the inaugural North/South perpetual trophy. The second round will be held at the ARX event, Oct. 2nd at Glen Helen. We hope this friendly rivalry will continue for years to come. All team members will receive a special North or South racing bib. Sponsored by Vintage Iron.
"ADOLF WEIL" TRIBUTE (Maicos Only!): We will honor the late great Adolf Weil who passed away a couple weeks ago. This class will be for Maicos Only and will be one moto only and best of all, it's FREE! (Limited number of riders)
Marty Tripes 100cc Works Revenge: If you have not witnessed the MT 100cc rage, it is surely something to see. This will be one of the most crowded gates of the day. Marty has created something really special here and the fun never stops on these 100cc screaming machines. Get your air-cooled 100cc warrior ready!
Team Race: One of our most popular classes last year was the Team Race. Once again, we will feature this action-packed race. We are anticipating several more teams this year due to the popularity of it last year. Each rider will ride their own bike in a one-moto format.
Camping: There will be camping Friday and Saturday nights. We encourage everyone to come down and enjoy the weekend. Barona Oaks Raceway is a great place to camp and have a great time. Camping $10 per night.
BBQ: Come and enjoy the post-race bench racing BBQ with Marty "Typhoon" Tripes. Along with the killer food coming off Marty's grill, there will be no shortage of bench racing. Feel free to bring what you like to throw on the grill. Mark "HO" Aquino will be showcasing his exceptional musical talents for all of us to enjoy.
MX Legends: Many MX legends, including Tommy Croft, Mike Bell, Ron Lechien, Jim Gibson, Danny LaPorte, Chuck Sun and Bill Silverthorn have been invited to the event. Come and mix it up with some of the fastest riders of the vintage and post-vintage era.
Awards & Prizes: There is will custom award medals for all classes along with some great prizes from our sponsors.
T-Shirts and Sweatshirts: We will also have Event T-Shirts and Sweatshirts available at the race. They SOLD-OUT quickly last year. If you would like to reserve one, please e-mail us back and we will save one for you. The Tees are $10 and Hooded Sweatshirts $25
