Dunlop Congratulates 2010 National Champions Strang and Caselli

  • Dunlop Congratulates 2010 National Champions Strang and Caselli

Buffalo, NY: Dunlop Tire Company proudly extends its congratulations to newly crowned champions: 2010 WORCS Champion, KTM/FMF’s Kurt Caselli and 2010 GNCC XC1 Champion, FMF Makita Suzuki’s Josh Strang. The path each series traveled and the way the contests played out to determine who would be crowned WORCS and GNCC champions may have been different but the result was the same: two champions crowned; both riding on Dunlop tires.

Dunlop riders dominated the 2010 WORCS competition, sweeping the top three spots in the series: Caselli taking victory, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich finishing second and Caselli’s teammate and defending champion Mike Brown finishing third in points. Throughout the season, aboard Geomax MX51 and MX31-shod race machines, the trio successfully put Dunlop on top at nine of the 10 rounds that comprised the championship with Caselli a four-time winner, Dietrich securing three wins and Brown winning two. Going into the final round, the championship had come down to the wire with Caselli leading Dietrich by six points. Battling until the very end, the KTM racer forced his way to his fourth victory of the season and wrapped up his second WORCS title.

Strang straight away set the pace in the GNCC competition when he amassed a solid points lead early in the season. After dominating the opening round and going on to take four straight victories, Strang finished his season with four more podiums—including a fifth win—and established a big enough lead in the points to wrap up the title at the penultimate round.

"It’s really pleasing to watch such a strong contingent of Dunlop riders challenging up front and to see two first-class riders come out on top in their series," said Steve Yanacek, Product and Marketing Manager Off-Road & ATV Tires. "Dunlop is committed to supporting off-road racing at all levels. What’s particularly great about each of these series is top-level competitors are winning national titles on the same tires that can be bought at dealerships. Every rider’s success is a testament to Dunlop’s products and the versatility of our range."
