  • DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing/Yamaha - Unadilla

New Berlin, NY - The AMA MX National Series is working it’s self into the closing stages, and by visiting the historical Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New York this past weekend another round went into the books. DNA Shred Stix/Star Racing/Yamaha came fielding the only two Yamaha pilots on the team for this race due to the injuries Broc Tickle and Max Anstie sustained at the previous race. #341 Nico Izzi, and #577 Martin Davalos, were both ready to do battle and felt content that some good would come of their effort.

Shining on this day would be Davalos, after some time off where he trained feverishly, the determined youngster was head strong and choose to tackle this race. In moto one, Davalos started off in common territory, sitting just inside the top fifteen. Very sufficiently, the #577 machine maintained the pace he needed throughout races end and came away with a 10th. A better start for Davalos in moto two had him running 10th for a few laps. As the race progressed, Davalos used his patented formula, by digging deep and putting down solid laps, this helped him steadily move forward. Davalos’ strong will paid off, because the ever evolving rider took 8th in the moto and a well deserved 8th overall on the day.

Next on the list was Izzi, who once again put together a solid, and consistent day which boosted his confidence. Moto one for Izzi began with a 12th place start, however on the very next lap the #341 Yamaha catapulted himself up into the 8th spot. Once there, most of his time was spent shuffling around throughout the race without any good returns. Never the less, late in the 30 min. +2 laps, Izzi was able capitalize on tiring riders and landed in 7th. A 35th place start after a crash early into moto two would leave Izzi with a lot work ahead of him. In the opening five laps, Izzi rallied hard and pushed to move forward. His outing was positive, and with some great moves which brought him back to the points paying positions. As the moto drew to a close, Izzi kept steady, not chancing throwing away any points and went on to finish 20th.

Results:
Moto 1 Moto 2 = Overall Finish
Martin Davalos 10th 8th = 8th
Nico Izzi 7th 20th = 13th
