Carlsbad, CA – The ARMAEnergy SNX backed Kyle Regal, (Merge Racing Honda) went 8th/6th for 5th place overall on Saturday at the 41st annual Unadilla MX National in Upstate New York. Regal’s 5th place finish solidifies his 8th place overall Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship points standings.
Unadilla was prepped for the rain but fortunately the sun came out allowing perfect racing conditions. Hailing from Texas, Regal exemplifies the true meaning of a privateer. From paying his own way, to driving to all the races in his Sprinter, to supplying his own mechanic with absolutely no factory support, Regal was the 7th fasted in the 450 qualifiers with a 2:08:087 lap time right behind Mike Alessi and Josh Grant. Regal was stuck in the pack with a poor start in the first moto having to battle his way up to the front finishing an impressive 8th.
Regal was then able to battle out of the pack in the second moto after another tough start. He was hanging tough with Andrew Short and Kevin Windham to eventually finish with a solid 6th place finish. The 8th/6th finish for Regal for a 5th overall should open some eyes for this consistent privateer.
"ARMA is proud to support Kyle and his racing efforts. He exemplifies the true meaning of what a privateer stands for and shows how much he wants to win", said ARMA spokesman Scott "Hollywood" Sepkovic.
Look for Kyle and fellow ARMA teamrider JLaw returning to the dirt this weekend at the AMA Southwick National Motocross in Southwick, MA.
