  • MSR Brings Home Medals at X-Games 16

X-Games 16 is over and MSR was in full effect bringing home 4 medals throughout the weekend of intense competition. With over 130,000 people attending and ample hours of TV time, this is a huge event for the MSR brand. The crew was on hand taking care of all our riders making sure their 2011 gear looked just right. We had a total of 11 riders wearing MSR, MSR/Metal Mulisha and MSR/Rockstar gear as they went for Gold in their respected events.

In Super X Men’s, both MSR's Dan Reardon and Nick Wey rode through the sun and dust to eventually finish 5th and 7th. In Women’s Super X MSR's Tatum Sik ended up 6th while last year's Bronze medalist Elizabeth Bash had a rough go and ended up 9th. Unfortunately Chris Ridgway tweaked his knee in practice and was unable to defend his gold medal in the Super X adaptive.

In Friday’s best trick, Taka pulled a huge backflip-seat-grab-indian-air, to bring home the Bronze medal while debuting the new MSR/Metal Mulisha Transfer gear. Taka also rode in the freestyle event where he failed to make the finals after what most thought was a great run.

Brian Deegan brought home 2 silver medals in the Rally events after only practicing a few weeks in advance. Deegan is looking to go for gold next year in both of these events. Brian also competed in Speed & Style where fellow Mulisha rider, Twitch, eventually knocked him out. MSR's Ronnie "Kung Fu" Faisst had the most eventful race of all when he went head-to-head with Twitch in the Bronze medal round. Twitch crashed, Faisst stalled and both did not hit the final jump until Deegan ran out on the track to let them know it was not over. The Staples center was going completely crazy and both riders ended up getting the Bronze medal.
