Golden State MX Race Report
Storied Glen Helen Raceway hosted the 3rd round of the CMC Muscle Milk Golden State MX Nationals on Sunday with a good field of pro riders lining up. Honda's Eli Tomac dropped in from Colorado; several touring Italian and French FIM pros rolled up; and So Cal locals NCY/Yamaha's Bryce Vallee, Kawasaki pilot Trent Pugmire, Rockstar Suzuki's Austin Howell all coming to race. Other riders included Vance and Hine's Preston Tilford, Honda's Tim Weigand, and Kawasaki's Travis Bright among others.
Tomac hole shots the 250 moto and quickly builds a comfortable lead. French FIM pro Nicholas Aubin comes out in second with Bryce Vallee in 3rd. Vallee quickly passes Aubin, then the two dice for a few laps until Vallee pulls away. Tomac looks strong and is never really challenged. The race ends with Tomac winning, followed by Vallee in 2nd and Aubin 3rd.
An even larger field blasts out of the gate in the 450 pro class. Bryce Vallee gets the hole shot followed by Trent Pugmire, Tim Weigand and Preston Tilford. Vallee and Pugmire pull away from the rest of the field with Vallee slowly increasing his lead on each lap. Vallee wins with Pugmire in 2nd.
