2010 Pro Contingency Programs
January 9, 2010 12:00am
We reported in Racerhead yesterday that Honda is joining KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha in not posting any contingency for pro racing this year, but it seems we were slightly misinformed. It is true that Honda is cutting the contingency program for the top level of racing, but Yamaha is still offering contingency. According to the Yamaha website here, Yamaha will pay $15,000 to winners in the Supercross Lites, Supercross, 250cc motocross and 450cc motocross races, and for all but 450cc supercross, second and third will make $7500 and $5000, respectively. In 450cc supercross, second and third will make $10,000 and $7500, respectively.
In addition, KTM announced in December that it will be paying out pro contingency in 2010 as well.
KTM and Yamaha are both paying contingency in the AMA National Arenacross Championship as well.
We apologize for the error.
