MotoConcepts Racing Seattle Race Report

Spokane, Wash. – The finish line is in site for the 2009 AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series and MotoConcepts Racing (MCRMX) is looking forward to an exciting finish to their inaugural year of Supercross racing.  With two rounds remaining, MCRMX 450 team rider, Health Voss, leads in the chase for Privateer of the Year and 250 West rider Jeff Alessi, looks to finish in the top ten.

This past weekend in Seattle Alessi has a strong weekend.  Number 801 moved into the main event after posting a 6th place finish in heat one.  In the main, Alessi nabbed another top ten with a 10th place finish.  After seven rounds of 250 West action, Alessi is in 9th place overall for the series.

In the 450 class, MCRMX placed two riders in the main, Voss and rookie Tyler Bowers.  The veteran Voss earned a spot in the main with a 6th place in heat number one, while Bowers advanced by posting a 9th place finish in heat two.  Teammate Ben Coisy was unable to advance after finishing outside of the top two in the LCQ.

Voss jumped out strong in the main with a second place start behind Mike Alessi.  A difficult and rutted out track was one Voss did battle with all night, finishing 12th overall.  Voss now has a five point lead for Privateer of the Year, sits in 12th overall for the season, and is only five points behind Tim Ferry for 11th overall.

Kentucky native Bowers did not share in the good start that Voss garnered.  About fifty yards off the gate, Bowers was greeted by then points leader, Chad Reed, and both riders went down before turn one.  Number 911 picked himself up off the soft soil and continued on, finishing 17th for the night.  Bowers is now 21st overall for the series and only seven points away for 20th place, held by Jason Lawrence.

“It was a fifty, fifty weekend for us in Seattle,” stated Team Manager Steve Lamson.  “Heath increased his lead and Jeff got a top ten which was great.  Tyler had some bad luck at the start, but is making mains and we are excited to see his development this year.”

Seattle is the closest race for the Spokane, WA based MCRMX team and over 125 friends and family were in attendance for the race weekend.  Thanks to all of you who support MotoConcepts racing!
