  • Red Bull Helps Sponsor The ASMF ” Night With The Supercross Stars”

Jacksonville, FL - Red Bull has come on as a sponsor of this inaugural event which has “sold out”. If you were lucky enough to have purchased tickets early enough - it is sure to deliver an exciting and unique evening with the ASMF crew, Honda Red Bull Racing Team’s - Andrew Short, Ivan Tedesco, Davi Milsapps, as well as Tucker Hibbert, Tim Ferry and Kyle Chisholm at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on the beautiful Jacksonville riverfront. The event is presented by Leatt Brace, Shock Doctor, and the Road 2 Recovery Foundation.  This amazing evening will take place on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 6 pm on the eve before the first ever Jacksonville Supercross.

“We are extremely honored to have a company with the stellar reputation that Red Bull has within the action sports community, to show support for the ASMF program.  In doing so, it really validates who we are and what we are doing for the athletes.  As always Red Bull knows how to do things right and it is no different this time.  Following the dinner they are throwing a Red Bull Industry AfterParty at Marks just across the river from Ruth’s Chris (see attached flyer).  What a great way to kickoff the weekend in Jacksonville!” said Dr Augustine – ASMF Founder

“As a racer, I appreciate the impact that the ASMF program has on the safety and wellbeing of the athletes competing in action sports and support the foundation in its mission”. said Milsapps. We look forward to having a great time and are glad we could help contribute to such a good cause.”

The Action Sports Medicine Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the quality and availability of sports medicine to athletes participating in action sports. The foundation was formed in 2003 by Dr. Steve Augustine, and is based out of Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute, in Florida. Our desire is to become a quality resource for athletes and promoters who are looking to receive on-site sports medicine services, and for the various health care workers who are looking to provide these services. The primary sports that we will be serving are motocross, BMX, skateboarding, wakeboarding and surfing. Within this population, our goal is to enhance the level of on-site medical care available at the grass roots level. In doing so, we can thus enable them to maximize their capabilities and participation in their chosen sports. Secondarily, we feel confident that we can raise the level of understanding of these sports within the medical community, thus allowing other health care practitioners to better deal with the needs of this unique group of athletes.
