  • Division 7/Star Racing Yamaha Race Report
Toronto, Ontario - The AMA Supercross Series traveled north of the border, making an appearance in Canada for a huge fan base inside the Rogers Centre over the past weekend. A technical track, with extremely soft soil treated Division 7/Star Racing/Yamaha’s #41 Matt Lemoine, #43 Broc Tickle, and #159 Darryn Durham to a great night of racing.

Lites Heat #1 showed Durham in 4th and Tickle buried back in 12th around the first turn. Both riders wicked up their pace, seeing Durham finish in 3rd and Tickle take 7th.

Lites Heat #2 began in solid form with Lemoine grabbing the holeshot and setting the standard. For five laps, Lemoine increased his lead and not until the final lap did he feel any pressure. Holding strong, the Yamaha pilot fended off attacks and set the fastest lap time as he raced on to his first ever Heat race win.

The Main Event started epically with Star teammates, Tickle taking the holeshot in rare fashion and in 2nd was Lemoine. Early into lap one, Tickle relinquished the number one spot and settled into 2nd. Lemoine in the same time frame experienced a costly mistake; however he regained composure keeping in 6th. Upfront Tickle kept put in consistent laps and virtually was untouchable until lap five where he dropped into 3rd, while Lemoine made his way to 5th. But this night would be highlighted by Tickle, who solidified his potential by racing a clean 15 laps, allowing him to obtain his first career podium. Lemoine would go on to finish 5th, all the while Durham who had started poorly, but raced himself into contention on lap ten, securing 8th. Only to find it would be a rough night, as the rookie who finished 17th encountered a tough block which was knocked into his path that caused a crash.

“It was a banner night for the entire Star team, and its sponsors who we can’t thank enough. It’s been a long time coming with a lot of hard work, and we look to continue with this success at the final (East Coast)round in Jacksonville this weekend” commented team owner Bobby Regan after the race.

Star Racing thanks all these key backers for their quality service.
