Murrieta, CA – The Red Bull KTM Factory WORCS Team is proud to announce its newest rider, Mike Brown.
Brown, the former 125cc Supercross Champion and British 125cc Motocross Champion, has signed a one-year contract with the factory team. Brown will race the series aboard the KTM 450 XC race machine. “We are fortunate to bring a rider with Brown’s experience to the WORCS Series and are looking forward to many top finishes in the coming season,” commented KTM’s Director of Racing Kurt Nicoll.
“I feel that the WORCS Series is a challenging Series that fits my riding skills well. I look forward to competing in this series against old and new rivals,” commented Brown. He continued, “The KTM 450 XC is a great bike and I believe it will hold up well on the off-road sections while also providing more than enough power on the motocross portion of the course.”
Brown will warm up for the 2009 series by competing in the eighth round of the current 2008 WORCS Series scheduled for August 30, 2008 in Monticello, UT. He is then set to compete the entire 2009 race season. Brown will be joined by teammate, Justin Soulè, who will be returning for his third year as a member of the Red Bull KTM Team.
