At the opening of the AMA/WMA Women’s National Motocross Championship this past weekend, Suzuki/Shift’s Sarah Whitmore put in an impressive ride. She finished third overall for the first of the six races in the series.
The Michigan native finished her Saturday moto in a hard earned second place. On Sunday, Whitmore ended up fifth and had placed third overall, behind Ashley Fiolek (1-3) and Jessica Patterson (8-1).
Currently, Whitmore and Patterson are tied with 38 points in the championship, behind Fiolek who holds down first place with 45 points. The AMA/WMA Women’s National Motocross Championship will go into its second round this weekend at Freestone County Raceway in Wortham, Texas.
