  • Blake Wharton Says Goodbye to the Texas Amateurs

Factory Connection Amsoil Honda Amateur Champion Blake Wharton rode off on his steel horse into the Decatur, Texas sunset with three National Championship Titles from the 2008 Vurbmoto.com Grand National Championship at Oak Hill MX Park.

After taking the 17-24 College Boy Championship Title at the 2008 Parts Unlimited Spring Classic at Lake Whitney MX Park the week before, Blake went to work winning the 125 Pro, 250 A Modified and the 250 Pro Championships in what would be his final Amateur races in his home state of Texas. Domination is the only word that can sum up Blake’s final races at Oak Hill MX.  An enthused Blake quoted:

“Since I am Texas born it is always so exciting to win in my home State. I am going to miss racing here but I look forward to my professional career and seeing everyone at Supercross and Motocross”.

As the reigning 2007 Amateur Rider of the Year and 2007 FIM Junior World Motocross Champion, Blake Wharton has high expectations this year and wants to build upon the success of 2007, riding with the same intensity that won him 30 plus National Championship Titles last year into his debut into the professional ranks in the AMA Toyota National Motocross Championships later this year. Blake finished by saying:

“I am looking forward to turning professional this year and translating my Amateur success into professional success”.

If his last Amateur races in his home state of Texas are any clue to his future success, the translation will be easy.

Blake would like to heavily thank his Sponsors; American Honda Corporation, Factory Connection, Amsoil, Planet Fitness, No Fear Energy, No Fear, Arai, TCX Boots, Scott Goggles, EVS, Cycra, Dunlop, EK, Ferodo, Hinson, Ogio, One Industries, Renthal, Showa, TAG, TwinAir, Works Connection and Proskin.
