  • Dirt Wurx USA Contracted To Build MX Track At Texas’ Lonestar Motorsports Park

Rich Winkler & Dirt Wurx crew break ground today on a motocross track at the popular IHRA drag racing facility outside of Houston

MONROE, N.Y., (August 21, 2006) – The world’s premier MX/SX track design and construction company – Dirt Wurx – announced, in cooperation with Lonestar Motorsports Park, that it will break ground today on a new motocross track at the popular Houston-area motorsports facility.

The track, designed by Dirt Wurx’s Rich Winkler for both motocross and ATV usage, will be located adjacent to the quarter mile drag strip and soon-to-be added road racing course.

“We build two supercross tracks each year in Houston and Dallas and know first hand that the great State of Texas absolutely loves its motorsports,” said Winkler. “So when the guys at Lonestar Motorsports Park approached us to build them a track we were quick to take them up on their offer. Texas has a solid nucleus of young, up-and-coming riders and it’ll be nice to see them competing in events at Lonestar Motorsports Park on a Dirt Wurx designed and built track.”

John Hennessey, who owns the Lonestar Motorsports Park, said that Dirt Wurx was Lonestar’s first selection when it came time to add a motocross track to his growing facility.

“Dirt Wurx’s reputation is well-known throughout the motocross industry and, when we reached an agreement on Rich designing and building our track, I couldn’t wait to tell our regulars that are interested in the sport of motocross,” said Hennessey. “And keep in mind that the facility will be open to the public as well, which gives them a rare opportunity to practice and race on a Dirt Wurx designed and built track.”

The track, which is scheduled to open this September, will feature numerous supercross-inspired obstacles suitable for motocross, while incorporating the natural landscape of the area to create a fast, flowing and fun race track for racers of all ability levels.
