  • Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto finishes fourth at Millville

Villopoto podiums in first moto (2nd) and was poised to do so in
second moto as well when a late race mistake cost him a couple spots

CARLSBAD, Calif., (Aug. 15, 2006) – Monster Energy-backed Ryan
Villopoto (Pro Circuit/Kawasaki) utilized a couple strong starts at
Spring Creek MX Park (Millville, Minn.) on Sunday – one of which got
him to the podium – to finish 4th overall on the day.

With the effort Villopoto moved into five points of the overall top
spot in the Lites class division of the Toyota AMA Motocross
Championship. Villopoto trails Mike Alessi 353-348 with three races
remaining in the title chase.

“Aside from a mistake late in the second moto I thought the weekend
went excellent,” said Villopoto. “That’s the first time I’ve
raced a pro National at Millville and really enjoyed that track.”

Also scoring points at Millville were Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/
Kawasaki’s Chris Gosselaar and Troy Adams. Gosselaar just missed the top ten overall, going 9-17 for 11th. And Adams would wind up 18th with a 12-27 finish. Adams is currently 10th overall in the points
standings, while Gosselaar (19th) and Grant Langston, who’s been
injured and raced only four of the nine rounds, are still in the top
20 overall (19th and 20th, respectively).

The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team returns to action this
weekend when the 2006 Toyota AMA Motocross Championship this tour stops at Binghamton, N.Y., (Aug. 20) for Round Ten of the 12-round series.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team sponsors include: Parts
Unlimited, Thor, Scott, Maxima, Amp’d Mobile, KMC Wheels, Vans,
