  • Travis Pastrana Scores his First Win of the Season at the Dew Action Sports Tour

Denver, Colorado – July 17, 2006 – Travis Pastrana threw down two new tricks en route to taking home his first win of the season at the Dew Action Sports tour, moving him into a tie for first place in the championship standings.

Vowing not to let fellow WMG athlete and round one winner Nate Adams beat him two times in a row, Travis Pastrana unveiled two new tricks at the Denver stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour and walked away with the win.  During his first run, Pastrana landed a Superflip, which is a back-flip superman, and a Super Indian Flip which is a back-flip Indian Air.  The two new tricks combined with Pastrana’s already potent repertoire of tricks was good enough to land the freestyle motocross legend in first place, just ahead of Nate Adams.  Since no one was able to match Pastrana’s first round score thus giving him the win, the ever playful competitor went out for a glory run on round two, putting on a show for the screaming fans.

The ever enthusiastic Pastrana said afterwards:   “I don’t like to lose and I’m always going to put on a good show,” adding, “I went into the Dew Action Sports Tour just for fun, but I’ve been really surprised how much everybody has stepped up their tricks. It is going to be a really intense season. Game on!”   Travis and Nate are now tied for first place in the championship standing with 175 points a piece.  Next up for Travis is X Games 12 where the five time Gold Medalist will try and repeat his winning performance with another win.  The energetic Pastrana will need all his strength as he will be competing in four events in Los Angeles: Supermoto, Freestyle, Freestyle Best Trick and Rally.  Look for Travis to go for four Gold Medals in as many events August 3 through the 6.

Travis would like to thank his sponsors: Red Bull, Thor, Parts Unlimited, Alpinestars, DC Shoes, Michelin, Suzuki, Cernics, Ogio, Smith Optics, Subaru, JD Motoring, Nixon and Kicker Inc.
