Toyota Arenacross Champions to Take Home Tacoma Truck at Season’s End

National and Regional Arenacross Champions to Drive off in New Tacoma

Torrance, Calif. – (Jan. 6, 2006) – As the title sponsor of the AMA Toyota Arenacross Series, Toyota is giving riders another reason to chase the championship in the 2006 season: a new Tacoma pickup truck. Both the national and regional AMA Toyota Arenacross champions will drive off in a new Tacoma from Toyota.

“Arenacross is really a grassroots series, with a lot at stake for the riders, especially the privateers and those racing the regional series,” says Doug Frisbie, manager of corporate events for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “Awarding the champions the Tacoma adds another element for the riders and will hopefully help them move their racing career forward as well.”

Toyota’s involvement as title sponsor of the AMA Toyota Arenacross Series, and now the added element of the championship truck award, sets a new precedent in the sport. The combination of off-road motorcycles and pickup trucks, though not new, is a relationship that is significant to riders across the country. The sponsorship and truck award allows Toyota to extend that relationship.
