  • Aaron Plessinger Likely Out for Remaining Supercross Rounds
St. Louis, MO St. LouisMonster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

It's been a tough go in 2026 for Aaron Plessinger right from the start, as he was taken out by Cooper Webb on the first lap of the season while leading his Anaheim 1 heat race. Since then it's been one incident after another, and now we know the full extent of the injuries from his crash in Birmingham. Here's today's KTM press release.

Aaron Plessinger LIKELY OUT FOR REMAINING ROUNDS OF 450SX SEASON

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider Aaron Plessinger will likely be ruled out for the remaining rounds of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship with a hip injury, aiming to regain full fitness prior to returning to competition.Plessinger sat out Detroit last weekend with the intention of returning in time for Round 12 in St. Louis, however, medical evaluations this week confirmed a hip labral tear that will require intensive treatment over the next few weeks to heal properly.

As a result, the decision has been made together with the team for Plessinger to focus on his recovery for an extended period. If he is unable to return prior to the end of Supercross, which has six rounds remaining, attention will turn to Pro Motocross.

The Cowboy has endured a troubled few weeks in 450SX, crashing heavily in both the Indianapolis and Birmingham rounds, before opting out of Detroit. He’s currently ranked 12th in the standings, earning a season-high result of sixth at Daytona.

Aaron Plessinger: “It’s been a rough few weeks with some big impact crashes on the racetrack and let’s just say my hip in particular – as well as my wrist, knee, arm and shoulder – are all screaming at me that they need more time to heal up. An MRI scan this week confirms that I have a labral tear in my hip, on top of being super-stiff and sore with a bunch of bruising. The idea of knowing I probably won’t race the remaining rounds really disappoints me because the team has really put in the hard yards this season getting me comfortable, so not being able to show up for them feels like a gut punch to everyone because they all work so hard. But the team also supports not going out there and racing at 50 percent – we agree I need to be able to give it my best. I will focus on healing up properly with intentions of being back as soon as I’m fit and healthy to do so.”
