Maximus Vohland Update After SMX Playoffs 2 Qualifying Crash

On Saturday during the practice start of the 250SMX seeded qualifying session, Maximus Vohland went down hard after some accidental contact with other riders. In a chain reaction, Cole Davies and Haiden Deegan made some contact, which bumped Deegan to the right and into Vohland. Vohland then gets his bars turned, sending him right, clipping the rear wheel of Seth Hammaker and then slamming into the back side of Levi Kitchen, taking down both the #92 and the #47. The Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha rider stood up and was immediately favoring his right arm. His race day was over.
Vohland took to Instagram to provide an update, saying he suffered a right dislocated elbow. This injury will end his season as he looks ahead to 2026 as he hints about a return to the ClubMX team.
The California native finished seventh in the 250SX East Division Championship in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, then eighth in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. He sits 17th in the 250SMX SuperMotocross World Championship through two rounds of the three-round playoffs. Below is his full update.
“Wanted to give everyone a quick update.
I ended up with a dislocated right elbow. After a few X-rays at the hospital, they were able to reduce it pretty quickly. Luckily, no fractures—so it looks like a straightforward recovery.
I’ll be starting my off-season a little earlier. I want to give a special thanks to my mechanic @mohead25 , who never stopped pushing and helped me develop a whole new way of riding this year.
I’m looking forward to taking what we learned and building on it for an even stronger 2026 season @clubmx.”
