The first round of the 2025 SuperMotocross playoffs will take place this weekend at zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. Check out the list below for a look at who’ll be on the sidelines with injury.
450SMX Class
Jason Anderson – Health Issues | Out
Anderson has been dealing with ongoing health issues and will miss the rest of the year.
Grant Harlan – Leg | In
Harlan crashed and got run over at RedBud. He sustained a leg injury that kept him on the sidelines for the rest of Pro Motocross, but he’ll be back racing this weekend.
Colt Nichols – Thumb | Out
Nichols is out after having surgery to address a torn UCL in his right thumb.
Aaron Plessinger – Illness | Out
Plessinger’s Pro Motocross season was cut short due to ongoing health issues. He’d hoped to return for the SMX Playoffs, but he’s still working on getting back to 100 percent and has shifted his focus to 2026.
Joey Savatgy – Leg | In
Savatgy sustained a leg injury at RedBud that kept out of competition for a few weeks. HIs playoff sport secure, he decided to use the back half of the summer as a brief off season before embarking on the SMX Playoffs and then international racing in either WSX or Australian Supercross. He’ll be back this weekend.
Chase Sexton – Shoulder | In
Sexton’s hurt his shoulder in a crash at Ironman. He’ll return to racing this at the opener.
Cooper Webb – Knee | In
Webb had minor surgery after twisting his knee at RedBud. He’s in for this weekend.
250SMX Class
Max Anstie – Leg | In
Anstie hasn’t raced since breaking his leg in Birmingham, but he’ll be back this weekend.
Julien Beaumer – Banged Up | In
Beaumer went down hard at in the second moto at Budds Creek and DNF’d. He’s in for Charlotte.
Pierce Brown – Back | Out
In just his first race back since sustaining serious injury in Tampa, Brown crashed hard at Ironman. He missed the remainder of Pro Motocross and won’t race any of the SMX Playoff rounds.
Mikkel Haarup – Collarbone | Out
Haarup broke his collarbone at Unadilla. He hopes to return to action at the Motocross of Nations.
Chance Hymas - ACL | Out
Hymas tore his ACL at High Point and missed the rest of the season. He will not be racing any SMX Playoff rounds.
Michael Mosiman – Ankle, Head | Out
Mosiman, who’d been dealing with a twisted ankle, had a nasty crash at Unadilla in which he sustained a concussion and a cut above his eye that required stitches. He’s out for the SMX Playoffs.
Jalek Swoll – Leg | Out
Swoll is out for the SMX Playoffs due to a torn calf sustained at Ironman.
