Jamie Astudillo knows how great it is to have the Women’s Motocross (WMX) Championship within the AMA Pro Motocross Championship once again. Because a handful of years ago, she was on the cusp of turning pro herself and about to jump into the WMX series, only for it to go away. Now back for the second straight WMX season, Astudillo’s goal is to do all she can to leave series better than it was when she started in it.
For these final three rounds of the six-round WMX season, she earned a spot under the Dirt Bike Depot WMR KTM Racing team tent. Her results might not be where she wants them to be, but she said this is her best year of racing ever. From competing in the 2025 FIM Oceania Women's Motocross Cup as a part of the five-rider Team USA roster to winning her second consecutive WMX East Series Championship up north in Canada (plus, making the 250 Class motos in Canada as well!), to battling the best women motocross racers in the U.S., and now earning support from KTM, this was a big year for the Pennsylvania native.
Check out this in-depth sit-down interview at Unadilla MX where I chatted with Astudillo about WMX, racing in Canada, WMX can grow moving forward, support from OEMs and fans, and more.
“Whether we race on Friday or Saturday, just being here has been huge for us,” said Jamie Astudillo, on the WMX series.
