  • Mikkel Haarup Suffers Broken Collarbone at Unadilla National
New Berlin, NY UnadillaAMA Pro Motocross Championship

Mikkel Haarup’s impressive debut run in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship came to a screeching halt on Saturday in New York. The Triumph Factory Racing Team rider was running inside the top ten once again until he collided with another rider. The collision resulting in a broken collarbone for Haarup, which ended his day early.

Despite not scoring points in either moto, Harrup ended the day sixth in 250 Class points. Haarup sits 13th in 250SMX points, well in a direct transfer spot into the motos in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs.

Below’s notes on Haarup are from the Triumph Factory Racing Team post-race release.

Mikkel Haarup saw his impressive run of results come to an end in Unadilla's first moto – a hard fall left him with a collarbone injury and therefore his day came to a premature end. Haarup's still sixth in 250MX despite scoring no points at the penultimate round.

Mikkel Haarup
"My day ended quite quickly. I had a good qualification and a decent start in moto one. I was just starting to flow when I connected with another rider – that caused me to fall and I suffered a collarbone injury. I hope to start the recovery process as soon as possible so I can be back on the bike!"

Steve Westfall – Team Manager, Triumph Factory Racing
"The day started well, but Mikkel suffered a collarbone injury in moto one. Jordon was solid and in the top 10 in both motos, despite two small falls. We just need to get Austin up front off the start, so there is plenty to work on this week. We will come out stronger at Budds Creek!"
