  • Tucker Freight Lines Continues Partnership with Ironman Raceway as Title Sponsor of Ironman National
Crawfordsville, IN IronmanAMA Pro Motocross Championship

The following press release is from MX Sports Pro Racing:

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – MX Sports Pro Racing, Inc., in conjunction with Ironman Raceway, has announced the continued support from Iowa based Tucker Freight Lines, which will once again serve as title partner of the 12th running of the Tucker Freight Lines Ironman National, which will take place this Saturday, August 9, from Indiana's famed Ironman Raceway. The dynamic venue will kick off the stretch run of the summer campaign with the ninth race of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, and Round 24 of the SMX World Championship regular season.

“We have been incredibly fortunate to have such a committed partner for the Ironman National in Tucker Freight Lines. For the Tucker family, trucking and motocross have always served an important role in their lives, which has made their support of this event a natural fit, allowing them to combine their passions” said Tim Cotter, Event Director, MX Sports Pro Racing. “They've played a vital role in the growing legacy of this young event, which has established itself as one of the most highly regarded races in the Pro Motocross Championship and has carved out its own place in the rich legacy of motorsports throughout Indianapolis and beyond."

Since 2014, the city of Crawfordsville, located less than 50 miles from downtown Indianapolis, has transformed into race city every August, as it welcomes hundreds of amateur racers, tens of thousands of passionate race fans, and hundreds more members of the Pro Motocross paddock to become the global epicenter of motocross. The local community has fully embraced the event, which is now a summer tradition for residents and provides a significant boost to the local economy.

As for the track itself, Ironman Raceway serves as a geographic marvel in the otherwise flat landscape of the midwest. Dramatic elevation changes and a natural amphitheater setting lend itself to being one of the most popular tracks on the championship schedule for riders, while an abundance of trees and incredible sight lines provide an enjoyable atmosphere for spectators. While Ironman carries a storied history as one of the most legendary venues for the Grand National Cross-County Racing Series (GNCC), it has quickly become a marquis venue for the Pro Motocross Championship as well.

Tucker Freight Lines, previously known as Art Pape Transfer, has been in operation since 1956, working with customers in open deck and dry van transportation sectors to find a variety of solutions for transportation road blocks. For owners Sauny and AJ Tucker, transport has served a foundational role in their lives and that passion and experience has allowed them to oversee a successful, award-winning business with a lineage spanning nearly 70 years. The crossover into motocross isn’t just limited to the Ironman National as Tucker also serves as a partner of the Toyota Redlands BarX Yamaha race team. Additionally, their son, Leo, is a budding professional talent.

Fresh off its final break in action for the 2025 season, the Pro Motocross Championship has reached its stretch run with the final three races of the regular season that will ultimately give way to the SMX Playoffs in September. The next three weekends will be significant as both Honda HRC Progressive's Jett Lawrence and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing's Haiden Deegan each look to put the finishing touches on their impressive quests to become champions for the second time. Moreover, their results will continue to pay dividends towards seeding for the postseason.

For Lawrence, the Australian will bring a 61-point lead over his older brother and teammate, Hunter, into the Ironman National, where he capped off his perfect season as a 450 Class rookie just two years ago. While Jett's significant advantage in the standings is a testament to his dominance this summer, he comes out of the break having being beaten for just the second time in his 450 Class career. At the previous race from Washougal, Lawrence saw his seven-race win streak come to an end at the hands of defending champion Chase Sexton. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider has made an impressive return to top form just three races into his return from an extended layoff and will carry the momentum to Ironman Raceway, where he is the defending race winner. While Lawrence remains in full control of his path to the Edison Dye Cup, his path to victory at the remaining three Nationals will be even more challenging, adding another layer of intrigue to the conclusion of the 450 Class.

In the 250 Class, Deegan also remains in firm control of the championship as he inches closer towards a successful title defense and another hoist of the Gary Jones Cup. However, his 45-point lead in the standings has been threatened in recent weeks by Honda HRC Progressive's Jo Shimoda, who has won two of the past three races, including most recently at Washougal. While it will take a major shakeup to significantly alter the scope of their title fight, Shimoda has provided a jolt of excitement with his recent success, which has forced Deegan to respond to halt the momentum. The level of performance on display by Deegan and Shimoda has been something to behold and sets the stage for an exciting end to the summer.

With Sexton and Shimoda's respective wins, Washougal proved to be a memorable outlier for the 2025 campaign at it served as the only race thus far in which neither Lawrence nor Deegan claimed victory in their respective class.

The Tucker Freight Lines Ironman National will get underway this Saturday, August 9, with practice and qualifying starting at 5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET, followed by opening ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET. Wall-to-wall live broadcast coverage can be seen on Peacock, beginning at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET with Race Day Live, followed by uninterrupted coverage of the motos at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. A special network encore presentation will be showcased on USA Network on Sunday, August 10, beginning at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET.

Tickets for Ironman and the remaining three races of the Pro Motocross Championship can be purchased by visiting www.ProMotocross.com.
