Kegums, Latvia MXGP of LatviaFIM Motocross World Championship

The following press release is from Infront Moto Racing:

Itty-Kymiring (FINLAND) — Infront Moto Racing is proud to announce the renewal of its long-standing collaboration with the Kegums circuit and the MXGP of Latvia, securing the event’s place on the FIM Motocross World Championship calendar for an additional three years, from 2027 to 2029.

The new agreement was announced and signed during the 2025 MXGP of Finland, marking another important step in the commitment of Infront Moto Racing, the Latvian Motorcycle Federation (LaMSF), the FIM and the local organizers to continue bringing world-class motocross to Latvian fans. Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo was joined by FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela and MXGP of Latvia Organizer Kristers Sergis, reaffirming the strong partnership that has kept Kegums on the calendar since 2009.

Latvia’s connection with international motocross dates back even further, Kegums hosted its very first FIM Motocross Grand Prix in 2005, when it welcomed a round of the FIM MX3 Motocross World Championship, marking the beginning of its rise as a prominent venue on the global motocross stage. Since then, the circuit has become one of the most iconic stops in the series.

Latvia continues to emerge as a stronghold in the motocross community, producing talents such as Pauls Jonass, Karlis and Janis Reisulis’ brothers and Junior 65cc World Cup winner Patricks Cirulis, who are now joined by a new wave of promising young riders competing in the European Championships.

David Luongo – Infront Moto Racing CEO: "Latvia has been on the calendar for many years now. When we first came to Kegums, it was already a very modern track, with a complete watering system, paddock infrastructure and strong organization. Over the years, we’ve continued to improve the layout together with the organizers and the FIM such as changing corners, jumps, even reversing the riding direction. It’s a historical Grand Prix that works closely with the national federation and the government and it’s a big pleasure and important for us to continue this collaboration for the next three years"

Antonio Alia Portela – FIM/CMS Director: "Having this contract renewed for another three years gives strong stability to the MXGP series. Kristers has supported us for many, many years, especially during the difficult times after COVID, when we had three back-to-back events here. The facilities and layout have been improved enormously to provide both safety and a great show. We’re very thankful for the continued commitment from the organizers and Infront Moto Racing"

Kristers Sergis – MXGP of Latvia Organizer: "It’s really important to keep the MXGP series running in Latvia. We have very good riders now and in the coming years we believe even more will come. With the support of the government and our team, we’re working hard to keep improving the event and the facilities. There’s still a lot of potential and this renewal helps us keep motocross very strong in Latvia."

The MXGP of Latvia remains a cornerstone of the championship and a symbol of the sport’s growing footprint. With a future secured, the stage is set for even greater moments in Kegums over the next seasons.
