Two-Time 250 Class Champion Set to Return for One Last Ride at Home Track

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – MX Sports Pro Racing, Inc., in conjunction with event organizers the Martin family, has announced that Millville’s own Jeremy Martin will serve double duty at this Saturday’s FXR Spring Creek National Presented by Frescados Tortillas, as the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider will not only embark on his final race, but will also serve the role of Grand Marshal at his family’s event. The seventh race of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, is certain to be memorable for the entire Martin family, as Jeremy’s decorated career is celebrated in a farewell ride in front of his family, friends, and a passionate hometown crowd.

“I really cannot think of a better way to put a finishing touch on Jeremy’s incredible racing career than to allow him to be honored and celebrated by the very people who have supported him throughout this journey,” said Alex Martin, Jeremy’s older brother who enjoyed a stellar racing career of his own and has now taken the reins of the family event. “That doesn’t just include my parents, my sister, and myself, it also includes the dozens of individuals that have played an integral role in making Spring Creek a world renowned racetrack, the many who guided Jeremy up to the sport’s highest levels, and the tens of thousands of fans who have embraced this race as a summer tradition for many, many years. It’s been an incredible ride, and we are beyond excited to give him the recognition he deserves this weekend.”

Jeremy Martin’s Pro Motocross career started with an impressive rookie campaign in 2013 that saw him make his first two appearances on the podium and finish sixth in the 250 Class championship to earn Rookie of the Year honors. The following summer, Martin took the series by storm, capturing the first five wins of his career, including his first at Spring Creek, to secure the Gary Jones Cup as 250 Class Champion. He successfully defended his crown in 2015 to become a back-to-back champion, a rare feat that only three riders have achieved since the turn of the new millennium. From that moment on, Martin became a standard bearer of the division.

While a third championship eluded him, Martin continued to rack up wins and podiums at a historic rate, including a trio of Spring Creek wins to share the all-time mark at the venue. As he enters his final race, Martin sits tied for fourth on the all-time 250 Class wins list with 20 victories spanning eight seasons and has sole possession of second on the all-time podiums list with 46, one shy of Steve Lamson’s record. Martin’s farewell race will also serve as a full-circle moment for his career, as he is set to end his journey with the same team he began it with at Star Racing.

“You’d be hard pressed to find a racer that has managed to stay under the radar for the entirety of his career despite possessing some of the most decorated accolades the 250 division has ever seen,” said Davey Coombs, President, MX Sports Pro Racing. “However, that’s Jeremy Martin in a nutshell. He didn’t worry about the attention. He wasn’t interested in being one of the faces of the sport. He simply wanted to work hard, ride his motorcycle, and win races. His competitiveness and determination is unparalleled and it’s why he is truly not just one of the all-time greats of the 250 Class, but of the Pro Motocross Championship as a whole. We look forward to sharing this memorable moment alongside Jeremy and the entire Martin family.”

The race will also serve as a full-circle moment for the entire Martin family at Spring Creek. During the 2008 season, the Spring Creek National marked Alex’s first professional race, where he finished 20th overall. Eight years later, in 2016, Alex and Jeremy shared the Spring Creek podium, with Jeremy the overall winner and Alex in third, with only Cooper Webb between them. The brothers did it again at Spring Creek in 2020 alongside Dylan Ferrandis, with Jeremy in second and Alex in third. Following Alex’s retirement at the end of the 2022 season, it’s only fitting that Jeremy’s last race take place where it all started for the Martins.

The FXR Spring Creek National will serve as Round 24 of the SMX World Championship this Saturday, July 12, from Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota.

Tickets are now available for all rounds of the 2025 season and can be purchased by visiting www.ProMotocross.com.
