Jeremy Martin went on the PulpMX Show this week to talk about his concussion sustained at Detroit Supercross and a second one he suffered while training for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, where he was knocked out for five to six minutes. Martin is back on the bike now and has been thinking about a possible come back.
“I was definitely one foot in one foot out when I left," Martin said. "I still have that dog in me, I lost that dog in me and part of this endeavor this summer was to find it again. And through getting healthy, and basically the training that has kind of been my therapy, I was like, ‘You’re not in a good spot right now. Let’s focus and get in the best shape of your life right now. Let’s do this bucket list thing, Leadville [100-mile mountain bike race], and let’s not make an emotional decision.’ So, if the right opportunity comes around on the right bike, I’d have a hard time saying no to it. I found that dog in me, and I miss it. Racing is like a drug for sure.”
Martin also opens up about his split from the Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha team, “I mean it didn’t end well, I’m not gonna lie about it.” You can listen to the entire podcast below, where ClubMX team manager Brandon Haas also calls in to tell his side of the story. As well as to speak on Martin’s former ClubMX teammate Garrett Marchbanks' midseason departure from the team.
