The SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Final wrapped up the 31-round 2024 SMX over the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here's a quick look at some SMX World Championship Final stats, rider vlogs, videos, points, and more.
SMX World Championship Final Quick Stats
250SMX Class
Pierce Brown’s first career 250SMX moto win, first career overall win, first 250SMX overall win, and first career 250SMX overall podium.
Haiden Deegan grabbed his sixth career 250SMX overall podium—he’s been on the podium at all six SMX events so far. He also earned back-to-back 250SMX titles.
Jordon Smith’s second career 250SMX overall podium.
450SMX Class
Jett Lawrence’s fourth 450SMX overall win, five career 450SMX overall podiums.
Hunter Lawrence’s second 450SMX overall podium.
Eli Tomac’s second 450SMX overall podium
The Last Dance
Pierce Brown earned his first career overall win in what will not only be his final ride with the team but also the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas team's final race together. Brown had four career overall podiums (all third-place finishes in 250SX main events) before his first career win. It was cool to see Brown get a win with the team he turned pro with back in 2019. TLD will no longer operate the GasGas factory program starting in 2025.

5-Out-of-6

6-for-6
Honda has won every 450SMX in history so far. Between the Lawrence brothers claiming all three overall 450SMX wins this playoffs (Hunter’s one win splitting up Jett’s two wins at the first and final rounds), a Honda CRF450R has claimed the overall win in all six 450SMX events to date. In 2023, then-Honda HRC rider Chase Sexton went 1-1 to claim the overall win at the first SMX races, which was followed by two-straight overall wins by Jett Lawrence. Safe to say the Honda squad has this SMX thing figured out so far!
#12 Goes 31-for-31
Shane McElrath was one of the four riders to qualify for and race all 31 rounds of the entire 450SMX season, and I believe with Chase Sexton and Malcolm Stewart not racing the final SMX moto of the season, McElrath was the only rider to make every main event/moto gate drop on the season. Oh, and he was fired mid-Pro Motocross season by the Twisted Tea/HEP Motorsports Suzuki team....partially because the team wanted him to sit out the final three Pro Motocross races, and Shane said he was determined to not skip any racing in 2024. So he found a new home with MaddParts.com Kawasaki to get to the races. Pretty impressive stuff there when you think about it.
