RJ Hampshire Out for SMX Finale
RJ Hampshire will not be racing this weekend’s SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Final at The Strip at The Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. After aggravating his injured wrist at the first SMX Playoff round in North Carolina, he then suffered a big cash in the second moto of the second SMX Playoff round in Texas. Now, Husqvarna has announced the 2024 250SX West Region Champion will miss the season finale. Hampshire was 13th in the 250SMX standings heading into the triple points finale.
Husqvarna released the following statement:
“RJ Hampshire will be sitting out the Las Vegas SuperMotocross Finale after suffering a crash in Moto 2 at Round 2 of the SMX Playoffs in Texas. RJ is already gearing up for an intense off-season of training and setting his sights on the 2025 season.”
Hampshire took to his own Instagram account to provide more information.
“Would’ve loved to have a good ending in Vegas but after aggravating my wrist again in Charlotte, then the crash last weekend we all decided it was best to sit out this weekend! Take the offseason to get my wrist back to 100% and focus on 2025!
