  • Cooper Webb Signs with Red Bull KTM
Las Vegas, NV Monster Energy CupMonster Energy Cup

It has been reported for months, but KTM made it official today: Cooper Webb is headed to Red Bull KTM for the 2019 season.

Following a successful amateur career, Webb made his pro debut with Star Racing Yamaha at the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross opener at Hangtown. He spent his entire 250 career with the team, winning the 2015 and 2016 250SX West Region titles and the 2016 250 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross title.

Webb signed with Factory Yamaha and moved to the 450 class in 2017 but has not found the same success in the premiere class, securing just two podium finishes in Monster Energy Supercross.

Webb missed time in both Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross in 2018 after sustaining two fractures to his fibula and a fractured tibia in a crash at Minneapolis Supercross and finished ninth overall in both championships.

As part of his move to KTM, Webb is moving to the Baker’s Factory and training with Aldon Baker, alongside his KTM teammate Marvin Musquin.

“It was an honor when Roger and Ian reached out for me to be the next guy on the Red Bull KTM team,” he said in a team press release. “It’s really encouraging to know what this team has achieved—they really have been there and done it, so I don't see any reason why they can’t do it with me. I will be putting in the work and doing everything possible to come into the year as strong as I can be. With everything around me, I know I have put myself in the best possible position for winning on the track again. I had a very comfortable feeling with the guys from the very first moments and that just gives you confidence. Working with Aldon at the Baker’s Factory is another strong part of the whole KTM set-up. I have an opportunity that really involves the whole package, so the plan is to ‘stick to the plan’ and focus on getting ready with the bike for Anaheim I. I don't want anything to take me away from that!”

Webb will make his debut at the Monster Energy Cup on October 13.
