According to the teams Instagram account, GEICO Honda’s RJ Hampshire sustained a broken rib, possible shoulder injury, and stable fracture to his T3 and T4 in a heat race crash last night at Daytona Supercross. The fracture to his T3 and T4 will not require surgery.
Hampshire made a mistake in his heat race and slammed into the ground. He was attended to by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit and the race was red flagged and deemed complete.

Positive news has emerged regarding the condition of RJ Hampshire. The GEICO Honda rider took to Instagram today to provide an update following his crash at Daytona on Saturday. According to Hampshire, no surgery will be needed and he expects to be ready for the start of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

"Good news all around. No surgeries needed, a few fractures and small punctures/lacerations to the lungs but everything looks good. Gives me some time to rest up and be ready for the start of outdoors. Thanks for all the prayers and checking in. Your boys gonna be alright."
