If you wanted to name the best rider of 2016 you’d probably just end up bench racing with your buddies and going nowhere. After all, there is no “for all the marbles” championship offered or bonus paid for most collective points earned in both motocross and supercross. Of course, bragging rights are still at stake, and when added up and combined, points earned in 2016 makes for some pretty potent bench racing fodder too.
So, if you’re a Ken Roczen fan use the list of combined points below as the ultimate argument ender. If you’re a fan of anyone else, get ready to make up arguments why this list doesn’t apply to your guy. For example, Ryan Dungey was in no rush to return to the races late in the season, because he wasn't chasing combined points at all. Keep in mind these are only 450 points, and some of the riders on this list also earned 250 points, which aren’t reflected here.
By the way, these points will be combined with 250 points to create the full AMA National Numbers list, which are usually announced in late September.
