Tyler Bowers will miss Round 10 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Unadilla on Saturday after sustaining a shoulder injury in a practice crash at Glen Helen on August 4. Kawasaki made the official announcement yesterday in a press release.
The four-time Amsoil Arenacross Champion has been filling in for the injured Josh Grant at the team since Round 6 of the championship at RedBud. In his first action outdoors since the 2009 season, Bowers struggled early but was beginning to turn his results around, finishing a season-high 12-12 at the last round at Washougal.
The injury comes at a terrible time for Bowers, who confirmed to Transworld Motocross last week that he isn’t expected to return to Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki next season.
Eli Tomac is expected to be the only team member at Unadilla this Saturday, as both Grant and Wil Hahn are out due to injury.
