Rome, Ga. – With the start of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross season on the horizon, Pirelli announced today a partnership with the newly formed Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki (MCSS) team. The partnership marks the brand’s first foray into the ultra-competitive 250SX Class.
Making his return to the 250SX Class for the first time since 2009 and spearheading the effort is California native Jimmy Albertson, who will contest the East Region alongside rookie Josh Osby. Out West, veteran Kyle Cunningham will team up with rookie Mark Worth, with both riders kicking off the season Saturday night in Anaheim.
“When talking with Jimmy and the race team about a tire brand to partner with, Pirelli was of strong interest after seeing the increases they have made in developing their motocross tires,” said Mark Rodgers, Director of Brand Marketing for Motorcycle Superstore. “We look forward to sharing with our customers how the race team developments transfer back into the tires we offer through the website for everyday riders.”
With the MCSS team racing the Suzuki RMZ250F for the 2016 season, Pirelli has the unique opportunity to further refine its technical expertise for Suzuki models with the valuable feedback from all four team riders. Pirelli also supports Joe Gibbs Racing’s Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha effort and the BTO Sports/WPS/KTM team in the 450SX Class, receiving critical input on performance from each rider.
