Bud Racing/Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Darian Sanayei will miss the start of the 250SX Monster Energy Supercross West Region after a recent practice crash resulted in a couple of fractures in his back.
Sanayei made the announcement on his Instagram page last night: ”Unfortunately my crash a couple weeks ago resulted in a couple of fractures in my back and I will be sidelined for a little while. I hope to be back in it before to long, and am very thankful for my entire @monsterenergy@bud_racing team.”
In an interview on PulpMX.com, team riding coach David Vuillemin said that Sanayei could miss a “couple rounds” and that the team may look to fill his spot with a French rider.
“Darian Sanayei was doing great,” said Vuillemin. "We started working on fitness and on riding on Nov. 23rd. He was improving tremendously but crashed a couple weeks ago on a triple out of a turn in a rhythm section. He hurt his back and will be out for a few rounds I'm guessing. We are trying another French kid to see if he will be ready enough to race A1.” Bud Racing is a French based company.
The former Team Green rider signed with the team this off-season to compete in the first seven rounds of the 250SX West Region before heading to Europe to contest the European Motocross Championship in the EMX250 class. This season will be his first as a professional.
