Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings announced today on his Instagram page that he will be staying in MX2 (250) for the 2016 FIM World Motocross Championship.
Herlings, 21, is already a two-time champion of the class, but has fallen short of the title in consecutive years due to injury. In 2015, after a shoulder and finger injury, Herlings missed the remainder of the season due to a hip injury sustained at the MXGP of Czech Republic.
Herlings made the announcement this morning, writing, simply, “Officially will be racing MX2 in 2016.”
