MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – Last year’s motorsports hit of the summer at Soaring Eagle Resort & Casino—the Edge of Summer MX event—is back by popular demand as host Soaring Eagle rolls out the red carpet on Aug. 28-30 for some of the nation’s top professional dirt bike and ATV racers, who’ll be battling it out for more than $62,000 in purse money right on the grounds of Michigan’s Four-Diamond casino and resort, voted the No. 1 Favorite Casino by Midwest Gaming & Travel.
And back for 2015 will be none other than the all-time winningest motocross racer of all-time, Ricky “RC” Carmichael, along with his RCH Racing business partner and freestyle MX legend Carey Hart, along with their RCH/Suzuki Factory Racing team.
“The return of the Edge of Summer MX event at Soaring Eagle provides our valued customers with yet another thrilling weekend of motorsports action – right on the casino and resort grounds,” said Raul Venegas, Director of Marketing and Entertainment at Soaring Eagle. “Last year’s Edge of Summer MX Event at Soaring Eagle was a resounding success, featuring a massive crowd of motorsports enthusiast and curious casino and resort goers as well. And with the inclusion of ATV racing, such a popular form of transportation with outdoors enthusiasts throughout the Midwest, we’ve got an entire weekend of high test-fueled entertainment that’s sure to be fun for the whole family.”
Teaming again with Soaring Eagle and RCH Racing to produce the event will be RedBud MX. Host of the nation’s number one professional motocross event held annually on Fourth of July weekend in Buchanan, Mich., RedBud MX’s staff is on-site to ensure a top quality racetrack, officials and overall smooth-running event program.
The field will showcase a full range of classes—including ages four to pro on the dirt bikes and six to pro on the ATVs—all racing on the Carmichael-designed track on the palatial Soaring Eagle grounds. Complete with amphitheater-style seating that allows fans to see nearly the entire race track, the Edge of Summer MX event will again rock the central Michigan action sports scene to its core with an entire weekend of motocross racing action, including ATVs this year!
As they did last year, the approachable Carmichael and Hart mixed with the Soaring Eagle crowd at Edge of Summer MX, posing for photos and signing autographs on Saturday. This year they’ll be joined by current Suzuki/RCH Racing team members Ken Roczen and Michigan’s own (Holly) Broc Tickle. The event also features a celebrity charity golf tournament (more info on that at www.soaringeagle.com), live music and, of course, the best gaming in the Midwest!
Event sponsors include: RCH Racing, Jimmy John’s, Ram, Bel-Ray, Suzuki, Hart & Huntington, Jimmy John’s, RedBud MX, Stevens Cycles, and Michigan CAT.
