Romain Febvre moved another step closer to his first career world championship today with a 1-1 performance at the MXGP of Czech Republic at Loket. Febvre now holds an 88-point lead over Gautier Paulin.
Evgeny Bobryshev finished second behind a 2-2 performance. Clement Desalle finished third in his return to racing.
Jeffrey Herlings’ lead in MX2 will last at least one more round, as Tim Gajser failed to score points in the first moto. Herlings is expected to miss the remainder of the season after dislocating his hip in qualifying yesterday.
Valentin Guillod went 2-1 to claim the overall in MX2 and pull even with Tim Gajser in points. Pauls Jonass finished second overall and is only 10 points behind Gajser and Guillod. Defending MX2 world champion, Jordi Tixier, who is still very much alive for the title at just 29 points back of Gajser, finished third overall today.
