Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings announced on Twitter this morning that he will miss Round 12 of the FIM World Motocross Championship this weekend in Latvia.
The current MX2 points leader sustained a gruesome left pinkie finger injury last weekend at the MXGP of Sweden when he crashed on the start of the second moto. The finger was severely dislocated and broken skin was showing through.
With pain in my heart I have to announce I wont be able to race in Latvia this weekend. Its not possible from the medical point of vieuw.

Herlings, who has seen a huge points lead dwindle to 78 over Tim Gajser, has failed to score points in three of the last four motos, as he exited the MXGP of Germany early with a shoulder injury.
Herlings returned to racing in Sweden just two weeks after having surgery to repair a broken right collarbone. Herlings may try to return at the MXGP of Czech Republic at the end of July, but no official return date has been announced.
