Ronnie Stewart and Team DirtCandy have parted ways. Stewart told Racer X’s Jordan Roberts after East Rutherford that he would not race Lucas Oil Pro Motocross with the team. “This race was my last race with Team Dirt Candy, so I definitely would like to thank them for all the support that they gave me to get me to where I am now," he said. "I’m definitely looking forward to the sponsors that I do have and building my own program moving into the outdoors. It’s very exciting. I’m going to have a big transition to make starting now.”
Stewart will now try and gather enough sponsors before Hangtown on May 16 to race on his own.
Team DirtCandy released the following today regarding the decision.
Team DirtCandy has parted ways with #69, Ronnie Stewart. We have enjoyed our relationship with Ronnie, but at this time the decision was made to part ways. We wish Ronnie the very best in all of his future endeavors.
Although Ronnie has chosen to forgo the final race in Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Team DirtCandy will be present in the pits with Brett Metcalfe #24 and Robert Lind, #869 available to meet fans and sign autographs.
